The maximum working hours in Qatar is 48 hours per week, with a maximum of 8 hours per day. During Ramadan, working hours are reduced to 36 hours per week, or 6 hours per day.

Yes, employees are entitled to overtime pay. Overtime is paid at a rate of 125% of the normal wage for hours worked beyond the standard working hours. If overtime is worked during rest days or holidays, the rate is 150%.

As of the latest update, the minimum wage in Qatar is set at QAR 1,000 per month as basic salary, plus QAR 500 for accommodation and QAR 300 for food, if these are not provided by the employer.

Employees are entitled to a minimum of three weeks (21 days) of paid annual leave if they have completed one year of service. For those with more than five years of service, the entitlement increases to four weeks (28 days).

Employees are entitled to an end-of-service gratuity upon the termination of their employment, provided they have completed at least one year of continuous service. The gratuity is calculated based on 21 days of basic salary for each year of the first five years of service and 30 days of basic salary for each additional year of service.

The notice period for terminating employment depends on the length of service:
– One week for employees who have served less than one year.
– Two weeks for employees who have served more than one year but less than five years.
– One month for employees who have served more than five years.

Employers in Qatar are required to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of their employees by providing a safe working environment, appropriate training, and necessary personal protective equipment. Employers must also report any workplace accidents or injuries to the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs.

Disputes between employers and employees in Qatar are typically resolved through the Labor Dispute Settlement Committee. Employees can file a complaint with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, which will then investigate and mediate the dispute. If a resolution is not reached, the matter can be escalated to the Labor Court for a final decision.
